All I know is that it stopped working upon upgrade to a newer version of Ubuntu. That might have been with Ubuntu 17.04 or so, I'm really not sure. I'm not sure how long now, possibly a year now, SoundConverter stopped working for me. Then you can use QuarkXPress 2015.First off, thank you to the maintainers of this project, this software package is very useful when it works for me. If you are ready to upgrade your OS to let's say Windows 7, then please choose the 64 bit flavor. If you want to stay on Windows XP (32 Bit) then QuarkXPress 9 is the last supported version. And remember that Windows XP is a risk in itself, as Microsoft doesn't support it anymore and doesn't release security fixes anymore. For Mac OS X users that is not an issue, for Windows users it means you need to use a 64 bit flavor of Windows. Unfortunately that means you need to use a 64 bit operating system.

That has resulted in a very fast, very stable QuarkXPress 2015. Regarding 32 Bit Windows, we have decided to go 64 bit only to not have to compromise and to carry two flavors of the same thing. And as QuarkXPress can open v9 files, you can continue to work on them. Even batch converts if you have thousands of older files. That converts older files (so pre-7) to v9. For that we released QuarkXPress Document Converter, a free download from our website. Of course you might have documents from QuarkXPress 3, 4, 5 or 6 and still want to open them. Therefore we cut the fat (with QuarkXPress 10). So to carry two completely different families of type engines is a lot of fat and could cause issues. The reason for that is that before QuarkXPress 7 QuarkXPress used an old type engine that didn't understand OpenType or Unicode. They can only open v7, v8, v9, v10 (and v11) directly. QuarkXPress 10 and QuarkXPress 2015 cannot open older documents directly.
